³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ President Dr. Tony G. Waldrop continued the University of South Alabama’s successful relationship with Fuzhou University Zhicheng College in China on Monday, Aug. 11, during a meeting on the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ campus with President Zuping Zhu and a delegation of Chinese educators.

Waldrop and Zhu exchanged gifts – an ornate scroll containing a Chinese parable written in calligraphy for ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ and a piece of art glass from ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ’s distinguished glass blowing studio for the Chinese visitors – in honor of their meeting. It was Zhu’s first visit to ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ and Waldrop’s first meeting with visiting educators from Fuzhou University Zhicheng College since he was appointed ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ President in February.

The 10-member group arrived in Mobile on Aug. 8 to learn more about ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ and the local area. Their stay has included faculty meetings, classroom time and visits to local restaurants and shopping areas in Mobile and Fairhope.

Representatives of ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ and Fuzhou University Zhicheng College signed a cooperative agreement to further study abroad programs in 2012 during a visit to China by ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ administrators and faculty members.
